When you’re considering becoming an image consultant, the biggest question is always about which training you should take first. I always recommend everyone starts with colour analysis. Let me explain why.
Always, always start with colour analysis training. If you start with a personal style course, you will definitely be equipped to design an outfit for your client down to the tiniest detail, e.g.
- The jacket collar must be 3.459875 millimetres below your left knee
- The belt must be worn 16.23 zillimetres below your right ankle
- The skirt must have the zip 17.8987686 trillimetres to the right of your left bosom
and all the other load of nerdy detail that might float the boat of an image consultant, but this is stuff that a client will never, ever use because the first thing virtually every client asks is, “Yes Kim, that’s all sounds very nice and dandy… but what ruddy colour should I wear?”
Colour is the first thing we see
… especially when shopping for clothes. So you will be giving your clients major valuable information about how to make shopping easy and how to look fabulous for ever and a day.
Everyone wants to know their colours! But not everyone wants to know about the style stuff. That’s probably because they are expecting to have to strip off, to be measured to within an inch of their lives, and all that type of garbage – NOT with my style training, I can assure you!
But the main reason they want to know their colours is because colour is fabulous fun.
You get to know a lot more about your client when you and she are having a good time together.
It can be very uncomfortable for a client who has never met you before to have to start talking about her body shape, weight, and all the wobbly bits she doesn’t like.
Leave that until you both know each other better.
Leave that until she trusts you!
And when you start with colour, you might discover that you want to stick with just colour and never move on to styling.
I made a fabulous living for 17 years offering only colour
And a number of my image consultants offer only colour analysis.
Lubella trained with me face-to-face in colour analysis. She had already paid the deposit for the personal style training and, after day 1 of the two-day colour analysis course, I refunded that payment. I told her Lubella should never dilute what she is absolutely brilliant at, and we designed her entire image consultancy around her genius with colour.
That’s why all my courses are modular
Simply pick the subject you want to start with and then try any of the others when you’re good and ready. This makes it more affordable for you, and our payment plans mean you can also spread the cost.
By the time you’ve had a few paying colour clients, you’ll then be able to invest in the Personal Style Course, the Personal Shopping Course, or whichever course next takes your fancy.
You cannot run a successful image consultancy without colour
So that removes the need to make a decision about whether to go for colour or style first, doesn’t it?
There are people out there waiting for you NOW to take the next step.
They are waiting for you to help them change the way they look and how they feel about themselves, and it all starts with colour.
So to answer the original question, I recommend everyone starts with Colour Analysis Training in a Box.
