Colour consultation question from a Colour Analysis course client:
When can I start practising colour analysis?
“Hi Kim, I’m loving your Colour Analysis course. It’s so refreshing. I’ve only watched it once and learned so many new things. I did a colour course in the Nineties and couldn’t find enough customers to make the monthly quota so I gave up. I didn’t want a lot of customers anyway. I wanted to enjoy colour and I didn’t with that. This course is letting me do that. Do you think I could book some friends in to practise on now, or do I need to do the hair colour training before I do that? Thanks so much for doing this course.” Petalburga, UK
Dear Petalburga, I am so pleased that you’re enjoying the Colour Analysis course. I would recommend that you start practising on anyone who’ll sit still long enough right now. You may find that’s more than enough for you to enjoy using your colour skills once again. If you find you’re having questions, problems or issues about your clients’ hair colour, then you’ll know it’s time to look at the Hair Colour Analysis course.
Perhaps it might help you to understand why I created these courses. For absolutely ages, I had wanted to devote an entire training to colour. To be totally honest, what I really wanted to do was find out how I work. Loads of consultants had been sending me photos of themselves and their clients for help with their analyses and kept asking how I knew so much about someone I’d never actually met.
I couldn’t verbalise how I do it
I’d been trying to explain how I did that to my mastermind group and found I couldn’t put it into words. So they suggested that I create a course, work through my process, capture it all on video and then analyse what I do from that. Ah, the beauty of working with objective business minds.
Well, that expanded to a extra courses because I realised that if I had to explain the theory of colour analysis itself that would take up most of the one day I’d allocated for my approach to the psychology of colour. I also knew that hair colour is the one thing that most image consultants ask me for help about and that it is an essential part of the way I personally diagnose colour. So suddenly a one-day course turned into three.
We decided to offer individual courses so that you can pick and choose the information YOU need, when you need it.
So, Petalburga, book in your friends right now and start practising madly.
Enjoy your colour analysis once again and don’t get bogged down with getting it right.
