Chatting to Grunhilde on the phone last week, I asked her, where would you like to be in 6 months or a year from now?
She shot right back, I want to leave my stressful 5-days-a-week job. I want to have a waiting list of color and style clients and work just 4 days so that I can spend more time with my family and I want to take them all to Disneyland for Christmas.
Then she added, but I guess it will take a lot longer than 9 months. I would love to give notice right now as I hate my job so much but I’m afraid in case I can’t meet the rent.
So we did a quick calculation of how much Grunhilde would have to earn to make all that happen. We included the cost of my training, plus buying in all the props she would need like drapes, swatches, printed documentation, and remembering admin costs.
And suddenly she realised that she could actually achieve almost everything she had been dreaming about within about 6 months – quitting her job, cutting down to 4 days a week – all by putting together a plan to create the clients and income she would need.
We also worked out that realistically it might take a bit longer if we included the cost of a trip to Disneyland. For instance, Grunhilde hadn’t taken into account how much it would cost to get the family there and back. But she could see that maybe working 1 extra day every month would soon sort that one out.
And then Grunhilde got excited because she could finally see that her love of colour and style could not only save her from the stressful life she was currently enduring, but it could totally transform her life and that of her family.
Then we got talking about the positive impact it was going to have on the lives of all her clients too.
And then Grunhilde got so excited she started to cry. That’s when I knew this lady was made for this business.
She was put on this planet to serve her clients, using all her innate talents, all her learned skills, and her unique personality to make a massive difference.
