Please, no more “I want to be a millionaire” namby-pamby pie-in-the-sky goal setting rubbish.
Whilst editing the last bits of video for the Mindset Motivation Marketing course, watching the footage, I can now see just how much I learnt from my very first business mentor several years ago. At the time, I had no idea how much I’d actually absorbed but there it all is, on screen, in the notes, on the flip chart, reminding me of how changing the way I think has utterly changed the results in my business, and in my life too.
What it also reminded me of is the fact that I’ve been a very naughty girl!
On the Mindset Motivation Marketing course we go through the process of how to set proper goals.
None of this, “I want to be a millionaire” namby-pamby pie-in-the-sky rubbish, but the mindset and attitude behind setting real goals, not just wispy wishes.
As I watched the course content I realised I hadn’t had my own goals clear in my mind for some time, and they certainly weren’t written down.
Horror of horrors!
Goal setting and the power of the mastermind
So I gave my mastermind colleagues full permission to beat me round the ears while they took me through the process of establishing what the flippin’ Nora I’m doing on this planet and what I actually want from life.
I’m happy to report that for a full two hours they showed me no mercy, forcing me to face some deep issues that clearly needed sorting out.
I can’t draw to save my life so I won’t inflict on you the ‘perfect life’ that one of the group drew on the whiteboard for me. But it absolutely sums up what I’m here for, what I’m doing, and where I’m going. This means that more change is on its way but it’s all good stuff.
That’s the power of the mastermind.
As Pop Larkin would say, “Perfick!”
